Chumley examines ways in which play tests the limits of control. Whether it’s sculptural deviance, wild texture, or giant rats, two and three dimensional objects that imply play in both how they’re made and how they function, question the relationship between widely accepted cultural and social norms, individual freedoms, emotional safety, and the potential for harm. Curated by Erin Foley, Chumley includes work by Thalia Rodgers, Sarah Hummel Jones, Bobbi McWilliams, Erin Foley, and Angie Seykora.
A special screening of Thalia Rogers’ video work took place on Saturday, February 17th at 7:00pm.
