As an organization, we embrace the possibility of working toward a collective vision of a more just and equitable future. Shared decision making brings that vision into focus by diffusing competition, power hoarding, and transactional relationships and embedding the principles of equity, accountability, and transparency into Amplify's operating structures.
Amplify is a democratically led organization that distributes decision making processes across the organization. Our program participants, community advisory group, staff, and board collectively influence decisions related to how we can best support artists, organizers, and culture workers exploring liberatory ideas across creative disciplines.
Alternate Currents cohort members guide Amplify’s public programming. Generator Series projects, panel discussions, and editorial content are developed within the cohort and collectively represent a set of practical and ethical relations around how justice in the arts is interpreted, documented, and enacted.
Board members work together to uphold organizational systems that support professional development, evaluation, and accountability for Amplify staff members. Community Advisory Group meetings, stay actively informed on how and what the organization is doing to actively work towards its mission.
Community Advisory Group members influence Amplify’s efforts by providing feedback and examining working practices within the organization. Community Advisory Group members represent a wide range of perspectives and are encouraged to center their professional and lived experiences to inform Amplify’s work.
Amplify staff members serve as stewards of the organization’s mission and day-to-day activities. They work with organizational stakeholders to distill and incorporate feedback, set priorities, and safeguard the programmatic integrity and fiscal health of the organization.
