*************************

Amplify Arts’ Generator Grants are designed to assist Omaha-area artists through the entire process of organizing, marketing, and presenting a curated group exhibition or performance at Amplify’s Generator Space at 1804 Vinton Street. These awards encourage artists to take creative risks, cultivate stronger peer communities, and connect to wider audiences.

Artist-curators develop a curatorial concept, craft an exhibition proposal, and assemble a work sample to submit with their grant application materials. If selected, grant recipients organize two public events, schedule studio visits with other artists, and create press and promotional materials. Amplify is there each step of the way to lend support, advice, and resources that enable artist-generated content to take shape outside the context of larger institutional systems.

A call for 2021 Generator Grant applications will open March 29 and remain open until 11:59PM on April 26, 2020. To help prospective applicants prepare submission materials, Amplify is hosting two Generator Grant Info and Prep Sessions to review eligibility requirements and award details.  Attendees will receive application advice and suggestions to help prospective applicants:

  • compose a strong curatorial statement,

  • assemble a legible work sample,

  • format an artist CV and works cited page and

  • better understand the jury selection process.

Bring your questions, experiences, and concerns to get a jump on your 2021 Generator Grant Application
